Here are some useful tips for cooking pasta like a real italian:
- It's better to drain the pasta "al dente" because ususally you cook it a couple of minutes more in the pan with the sauce.
- Add the salt when the water is already boiling.
- Every now and then move the pasta while is boiling so it doesn't stick together.
- If your sauce is becoming dry while waiting for the pasta to be ready add some boiling water and let it simmer.
- When you drain the pasta add it immediately to the pan with the sauce, otherwise it becomes sticky.
- After draining the pasta let it cook in the pan a couple of minutes in the pan with the sauce so all the ingredients mix well together
- Fresh pasta (like gnocchi,tortellini,ravioli etc.) is ready to be drained when it floats.
